A tradition of Quality Since 1981

History and Philosophy

Browning Arts was founded in 1981 by Mark and Emma Browning, from Montana.  In 1993 they sold the shop and it remained at the location by Central High School until after the flood in 1997, when it moved to its present location at 23 S. 4th St., Grand Forks, 2 doors up from the coffee shop, and across the street from the transit center.

Its present location in a building on the National Historical Register is cozy, with wood floors and big windows.  Art is everywhere in the shop and customers of all ages and experience enjoy stopping in to browse and shop.

The shop is owned and operated by a professional artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Dakota.

Our philosophy is to give you the best customer experience and work possible with no shortcuts or fake discounts.

We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and places on the planet.  Feel free to stop in and have a look!
