A.Kemp

A. Kemp.  Painter, sculptor, workshop creator.  Currently works out of Grand Forks, ND, at YOU ARE HERE, 25 S. 4th St., The Blue Door Gallery, 2 N. 3rd St., Ste. C, and other locations.

This year my theme is residencies:
First, the abandoned Shangri-La restaurant in Grand Forks.  Second, a mobile residency in and around London with the Xanadu suit.  Third and currently the Grand Forks Boathouses behind the Public Works Facility in Grand Forks, ND.

What I do is defined by the work.

Below are photos of artist Adam Kemp working with residents of Woodside Village in Grand Forks.  Photos by Kathy Emmons of NOVAC.

"I'm leery of using the term artist unless I'm using it for everyone.  In this workshop the residents--artists--did the best they could with what they had to work with.  If I have done my job right when I'm collaborating with other people, they are as much artists as I'll ever be.  It is a privilege to be able to collaborate with those residents.  Thanks to everyone who made it happen."
